Wood County Habitat kicks off fundraising campaign

Parkersburg, WV - Wood County Habitat for Humanity kicked off a $100,000 fundraising campaign Monday. The announcement was made at the 63rd house they are building on 15th Avenue in South Parkersburg. Wood County Habitat Executive Director Alvin Phillips said while the number of homes is great as they build four to six a year, it is the families they are helping that is important. "Our goal is to get people out of bad housing situations," said Phillips. "Every family that has moved into a habitat house has had some sort of problem whether its a overcrowding or structural or something else." The campaign runs through February 14, 2013.
